The European Commission publishes a preliminary study on scientific evidence related to radiofrequency health.

The EU Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks (SCHEER) has issued a preliminary opinion on this issue, on which public contributions have been accepted until 25 September 2022.

At the request of the Commission, the EU Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks (SCHEER) has issued a preliminary opinion on the need to revise Council Recommendation 1999/519/EC and Directive 2013/35/EU, taking into account the latest available scientific evidence on radio frequencies and health.

So far, SCHEER has not identified significant evidence of health risks resulting from prolonged exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (such as those generated by WiFi, mobile phone towers or other wireless technologies) if the levels are below the limits set in the annexes of Council Recommendation 1999/519/EC and Directive 2013/35/EU; which are those applied in Spain through Royal Decree 1066/2001 of 28 September.
